Arabian Oil Company, Ltd. (AOC) has aimed to establish the organization which conducts its business with economic, environmental and social responsibilities. In order to establish such organization, AOC has operated HSE Management System to improve “Health, Safety and Environment” of the organization. General Policy AOC will work to provide a stable supply of oil and natural gas for industrial, commercial and home use and at the same time contribute to the realization of a prosperous society as well as to maintain a comfortable environment. Recognizing the significant risks related to health, safety and environment of the Earth inherent in its activities, AOC will set and maintain its HSE management system to the highest levels possible in order to avoid physical injuries, health disorders, pollution and finally achieve harmony with environment of the Earth whilst promoting sustainable global development. Strategies Comply with and continually improve on all applicable HSE laws, regulations, International Industry Standards and other related internal and external requirements to which AOC subscribes and applies. Give top priority to health and safety of all our employees, service contractors and people affected by our operation and in this regard, AOC will identify and assess health and safety hazards in advance and eliminate them or, if not possible, reduce risks to as low as reasonably practicable to prevent incidents. Encourage the use of the best available advanced technology, efficient use of energy and materials, zero emission and the minimization of wastes to reduce adverse impact of our operations on the environment. Implement, maintain and improve HSE management system to the highest levels possible so as to achieve continual HSE performance improvement under the direct supervision of the top management. Conduct education, training and inter-office awareness activities in order to make staff conscious of their roles and responsibilities regarding HSE activities and finally to improve awareness of HSE issues. Disclose AOC's HSE Policy and the results of the HSE activities to build mutual understanding among the stakeholders. Acquisition of Certificates for ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 Head Office, Kuwait Office and Egypt Branch Office of AOC acquired certificates for OHSAS18001:2007 (Occupational health and safety) on Sep. 30, 2010, and ISO14001:2004 (Environment) on Oct. 1, 2010. Operation of HSE Management System AOC has operated HSE management system applying an annual PDCA procedure, and is aiming at the improvement of Environment, Occupational Safety and Health, and Business of the organization. The renewal audit for the certificates is taken every three(3) years, and the surveillance audit is taken every year in the interval of the renewal audit to keep the certificates. HSE for Overseas Projects AOC prepares the HSE documents for Overseas Projects based on international standards (ISO 14001, OHSAS18001, an OGP guideline, etc.), and is performing HSE activity according to those documents.
